My family has purchased numerous glasses, contacts and loves the styles that the store keeps and the helpful staff. I recently decided I wanted to get another pair of glasses and picked out a pair. Almost all their frames and lenses are very expensive. If you shop there you are aware of this. I paid for my glasses and the next morning decided I wanted to cancel the order because of the style I picked out and called immediately. They let me cancel them but made me aware that even though it was the next morning and no lenses were being made yet that it is not their policy to let people cancel. I was allowed to cancel “this one time.” So be aware even if you glasses are not being made yet … you can not cancel.

Optyx Port Washington is the most professional office! There are no other opticians that I would trust more with the health of my eyes and vision. The staff is warm, attentive and friendly. I had my glasses and lenses quickly. Truly a wonderful experience.

The doctor was fine. Her personality is very serious and business-like and wasn’t particularly warm, but I thought she did a very thorough examination.

I was caught very off guard, however, because I was unaware that my previous doctor of 15+ years had retired during the pandemic; I was never made aware of this, even when I called to make my appointment. The gentleman running the front of the store was incredibly rude and snobby and not someone I would want being the first person you meet when you enter my practice. I was also seen 45 minutes late, apparently due to a computer issue.

At first glance, this is a sophisticated eyewear boutique, but step inside and you're transformed into a fashion gallery to fit your optical desires. The variety here can be overwhelming, but fret not as the lovely and attentive sales consultants will guide you through the options and price points. You can expect fantastic service and a personal approach to what sometimes can be a complicated decision, after all, the first thing the world sees are our eyes. I'll surely be back.

Joanne Clark DO gave me an excellent eye exam. She was most pleasant and very thorough. Her knowledge of one of my eye conditions has helped me enormously. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I had a great experience buying glasses at OPTYX. Rob and Gail were extremely helpful - patient, friendly and responsive to my requests. They had a great selection and I left satisfied with my experience (and with two new pair of glasses). I’ve been a long-time patient at North Shore Vision on Main Street.
With the recent change of it’s ownership, I’m delighted and relieved to still see the same friendly and professional staff on the premises.
These days, one can order designer eye glasses from a host of sources , but what you cannot “order” is quality customer service , product expertise & knowledge and thorough eye-care practices that this charming Port Washington location is known for after serving the community for many decades.

We do not live in Port Washington but needed new glasses and contact lenses. Dr Weil and his staff could not have been more efficient, professional and kind.

They knew that we were not local (the English accent may have helped give the game away 🙂 ) and therefore very little chance of repeat business, but they still went to great lengths to do a good job.

- Fast response to e-mail request for appointments
- Appointment on time and enjoyable, as far as visits to the optometrists go
- Knowledgeable, fun staff who helped in the choosing of new glasses
- Then had 2 pairs of glasses and a years worth of contact lenses ready the next afternoon - 36 hours later!!!

This place has absolutely the best customer service. My daughter had a pair of designer sunglasses with a broken nose pad. We were being told by several places it couldn't be repaired or it would be crazy expensive. I called Scott Weil and at first he said he couldn't help. Ten minutes later he called me back and said bring them in he might be able to do something. When I went there he was busy and asked if I could leave them for a couple of hours. When I picked them up they were perfect. The best part he wouldn't accept any payment. NO CHARGE. When do you ever get that type of customer service! They have a new regular customer now

Dr. Weil is fabulous. He's extremely thorough, kind, caring and patient. He gives excellent referrals as well. Dr. Weil is an excellent eye doctor and I strongly recommend him and North Shore Vision.
